WILLIAMS PROPH ERICA 255-184 (W3) is a purebred Angus cow that was purchased as an open heifer from Gordon’s long-term friend, Dr. Alex Williams. Among 2-year-olds at Red Hill, W3 was the first heifer to calve, and she has calved early in the calving season each year. W3 is a highly fertile female that also has tremendous growth and calving ease. Her 2% ranking for Calving Ease in combination of 2% ranking for both weaning and yearling growth is a rare combination in the ASA database. Her first calf was a 231A daughter, 15E, that has become our premier SimGenetics Donor. We have retained five daughters of W3 in our herd. W3’s third calf was a Beacon son, REDHILL TITAN NS W3 37G that sold in our 2020 sale to Dixon Farms, Cole Cattle, and Woodco Cattle in Alabama. We used Titan to clean up SimAngus heifers in the spring of 2020.

REDHILL 231A W3 15E is an amazing daughter of 231A and our W3 Angus cow. Like her dam, 15E was the first heifer to calve among all our 2-year-olds. Her first calf was a Beacon son, 29G, that has been retained for heavy use in the Red Hill program. 29G’s first calves look fantastic, and 29G is a true “Calving Ease” sire.

15E has been flushed to LCoC Accelerate, SynGen Enhance, and Guardian. She is extremely fertile in embryo production and has bred back first service after each flush.

Along with the positive EPD traits and phenotype, 15E is ‘puppy dog’ calm and transmits the easy-going demeanor to her calves. We have 10 active daughters of 15E currently in production at Red Hill.

15E’s 2022 bull calves by Guardian will be sale features in our 2023 sales. Simply put, these bull calves are some of the most outstanding individuals we have ever weaned!

REDHILL ALLABRD 34Z 21E is our top generating RED Simmental cow. She is three-quarter Simmental which offers the opportunity to make Purebred Simmentals or SimAngus depending on how she is mated. 21E has produced three outstanding herd sires to start her production life.

Her fourth calf is also a bull and is sired by LCoC First Class. He is another stand out. Additionally, we have nine full siblings to 63G and 139H we are weaning in the fall of 2022.

21E’s dam, 34Z, is bred for her 10th calf in the spring of 2023. She is simply an outstanding cow. Her son in 2015 sold to Tulloch and is a sire we used here, REDHILL MUSKOKA 71C. 34Z has three active daughters in our herd. As a 10-year-old cow, 34Z is youthful, sound, and has an excellent udder.

REDHILL 102A W913 308C is a powerful brood cow that is phenotypically superior. Her fleshing ability and body volume are things that we select for and love at Red Hill. 308C is always one of the first cows to shed her hair each year and her progeny possess these same traits. She is a very fertile cow and is one of the first cows to breed every year. 308C’s first son was 235E. 235E was the lead off Simmental bull in the 2019 fall sale and went to Jay Price (KY). Her 2nd son, 283G, has been retained at Red Hill and is now breeding cows for us. 283G’s progeny have many of the positive attributes that his mother has to offer. We have now flushed 308C to 231A and have 8 bull calves developing in the Red Hill system. These bulls should make sire females like their mother but also bring some extra growth and carcass to the table from 231A. These bulls will be available in the Fall 2022 and Spring 2023 sales.
