WILLIAMS PROPH ERICA 255-184 (W3) is a purebred Angus cow that was purchased as an open heifer from Gordon’s long-term friend, Dr. Alex Williams. Among 2-year-olds at Red Hill, W3 was the first heifer to calve, and she has calved early in the calving season each year. W3 is a highly fertile female that also has tremendous growth and calving ease. Her 1% ranking for Calving Ease in combination of 2% ranking for both weaning and yearling growth is a rare combination in the ASA database. Her first calf was a 231A daughter, 15E, that has become our premier SimGenetics Donor. W3’s third calf was a Beacon son, REDHILL TITAN NS W3 37G that sold in our 2020 sale to Dixon Farms, Cole Cattle, and Woodco Cattle in Alabama. Titan has an API of 181 and TI of 106 to be one of the highest indexing bulls in the ASA database. We used Titan to clean up SimAngus heifers last spring. W3 was flushed to 231A in 2019, and 2 of those sons, 13H and 30H, are selling in our March 20, 2021 Bull Sale. Of course, the heifers from this flush are being retained at Red Hill.

REDHILL 231A W3 15E is an amazing daughter of 231A and our W3 Angus cow. Like her dam, 15E was the first heifer to calve among all our 2-year-olds. Her first calf was a Beacon son, 29G, that has been retained for heavy use in the Red Hill program. 29G’s first calves look fantastic, and 29G is a true “Calving Ease” sire. 15E was flushed as a 2-year-old and produced 28 good embryos by Accelerate, one of Leachman’s outstanding composite bulls. These bulls offer a unique opportunity to purchase outcross genetics from one of the outstanding cows in the ASA database. All heifers from that flush are being retained at Red Hill. 15E was flushed again in 2020, and she will be flushed again this spring. 15E has conceived on first service after each flush.
